La CE preocupada pels riscos d'escoltar música amb auriculars
El Comitè Científic europeu d'Identificació dels Riscos de la Salut (SCENIHR) ha emès l'opinió sobre els riscos que comporta la utilització d'aparells d'audio amb auriculars i els telefons mòbils que incorporen aquesta funció sobre el deteriorament prematur de l'oïda.
Fa temps que se sap que l'exposició continuada als sorolls provoca danys com la pèrdua irreversible i deteriorament de l'oïda. Amb l'envelliment es perd de manera natural la qualitat de la captació dels sons però, si no volem accelerar el procés, els científics recomanen la reducció del temps d'exposició i dels nivells massa alts d'audició a través dels microauriculars d'ús gairebé generalitzat entre els més joves.
Fa uns mesos ja vam parlar d'estudis elaborats als EEUU que advertien que els auriculars que porten els MP3 podien causar danys auditius, fins i tot parlaven de l'anomenada 'sordera de l'iPod' que s'havia detectat en molts joves que presentaven símptomes de sordera propis de la tercera edat. El problema el centraven en el disseny ja que l'auricular miniaturitzat no bloqueja els sons externs pel que es compensa apujant el volum a nivells de risc.
El Comitè europeu recorda les regulacions recentment introduïdes per a prevenir l'excés de soroll en el lloc de treball, però ara cal sensibilitzar sobre un altre sector de la població en aquest sentit: els nens i adolescents. Així proposa que es portin a cap les mesures preventives suficients per a evitar danys irreversibles a la oïda dels més joves causats pel mal ús dels aparells d'audio personals que s'ha d'escoltar a través d'auriculars o del mòbil.
